I'm back

hello all - it's been a many moons and many more books since I have posted anything. Currently am reading a book of short stories - Stories of Fatherhood (Everyman's Pocket Classics) Hardcover – by Diana Secker Tesdell. I like reading short stories for the simple fact that i am exposed to new authors and styles of writing. I have not only been reading plenty - I have been doing writing reviews for both Portland Book Review and Blogging for Books. I love looking forward to the free books that clog my mailbox and the stories that await me. Sometimes it can be hard to create a 300 review on a book that was so-so. but on the flip side there have been a handful of great books. That's all for now. Keep reading!

Good bye Angstrom family

I thought that I had finished the "Rabbit" series, however, had found a gem! This gem was called "Licks of Love: Short Stories and a Sequel." In this book, holds the story of how Harry, Janice, Nelson, and others from Brewer/Mt. Judge fare in the months before Y2K hits. I love how Updike throws in Annabelle, the illegitimate daughter, that we met in the previous Rabbit stories and how she throws havoc in the wind and makes Nelson finally grows up and leaves the commonwealth of Pennsylvania for good. Definitely worth the read and fitting way to say goodbye to the Angstrom family.

Rabbit series done

Am saddened that I'm done reading the Rabbit series. A great look at one man's life and how he lived on his own terms. Next up 'The Book of Jonas.'

Rabbit is Rich

In the part where I'm now Nelson and his own family are more present. We see how life and Janice have treated Nellie. There are many issues between Rabbit and Nelson, they start to show back in Rabbit, Redux. Have been reading The book of Jonas lately and am starting to miss Harry and his family. That's all for now.
